Mudau Opens Up On That Miss Vs Nigeria

Mamelodi Sundowns and Bafana Bafana right-back Khuliso Mudau has opened up about his missed chance against Nigeria in the semi-finals of the recently concluded Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast.

Bafana came from a goal down in the semi-final against the Super Eagles and dragged the match in Bouake into extra-time but unfortunately lost 4-2 on penalties to miss out the final.

The former Black Leopards man, though, had a huge opportunity in injury-time of the encounter to give Bafana a lead but he missed that glorious chance, firing over from close range.

Speaking to iDiski Times senior writer Velile Mnyandu in edition 142 of the newspaper about that miss.

“You know in football those things do happen,” Mudau told iDiski Times.

“Some you win, some you will score, some you will miss, it happens Bra. Obviously going to the game, I want to win every game, it’s just one of those.

“I think everyone knows that we made the country proud, unfortunately, we didn’t make the final but we wanted to reach the final so that people can believe in us again.

“Because you can tell when Bafana Bafana was playing, you can tell…Ahhh, but now I believe that people will come back and support us in full.”
