Ngezana Wins Back-To-Back League Titles

Bafana Bafana defender Siyabonga Ngezana won his second successive league title with Romanian giants FCSB with three games remaining

Ngezana’s football career has grown in leaps and bounds since joining FCSB in June 2023 from Kaizer Chiefs.

The 27-year-old, since arriving in Romania, had won the league title last season, when he was also named the Foreign Player of the Season and been included in Team of the Season, before adding the Super Cup in the beginning of the 2024/25 campaign.

This season, he started a bit off after suffering from back-to-back injuries, and FCSB also didn’t start well – but as the saying goes it’s how you finish and the defending champions are finishing strong.

Ngezana made 22 appearances in 2024/25 so far, scoring one goal. He played a massive role defensively, helping his side to keep clean sheets, and as they say, great defences win you titles.

Just a few hours after his former team Chiefs were crowned Nedbank Cup champions in South Africa, Ngezana was also crowned the champion of Romania after CFR Cluj played a 2-2 draw against Craiova.
