The South African Football Association have announced a four-year extension of their partnership with SABC on Thursday.
With things on the up for Bafana Bafana under coach Hugo Broos, and Banyana Banyana preparing to defend their Women’s Africa Cup of Nations title, controversies around SAFA have also gone quieter for a bit.
Earlier in the week, SAFA announced the return of Advocate Tebogo Motlanthe to take up the vacant position of COO.
On Thursday, SAFA announced an extension of their partnership with the SABC, which has been existing for 32 years now.
“It’s my great honour to announce that SAFA and SABC have renewed their partnership. We have an agreement for another four-year cycle, not just Bafana, but also Banyana and we’ll also show the grassroots leagues,” SABC Group CEO Nomsa Chabeli confirmed.
SAFA president Dr. Danny Jordaan added: “SABC has been there for our first game after readmission, when Doctor Khumalo scored in a 1-0 victory over Cameroon. They’ve been with us when we hosted the 1996 AFCON and the 2010 FIFA World Cup. And we’re happy to continue our partnership.”
The new extension includes live coverage of Bafana Bafana games, Banyana Banyana games, junior national team levels, the Hollywoodbets Super League, as well as the Sasol and ABC Motsepe leagues.
