Banyana Banyana stand-in captain Lebohang Ramalepe has warned about focussing too much on results as they next take on Jamaica in a friendly international.
The African champions face the Reggae Girls at Catherine Hall Sports Complex in Montego Bay on Saturday morning with the second match scheduled for 2 December at the same venue.

This is part of their continuous preparations for the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. The last time the sides met was in April 2019 before South Africa’s maiden FIFA Women’s World Cup appearance in France.
Ramalepe is expecting different line-ups in the games adding that greater focus should be gauging on how well new players are gelling in the team and an improved performance of the squad.
“I think sometimes we rush into getting results, not knowing how far we have come as a team,” Ramalepe told Safa.net.
“We’re trying to bring in new faces, trying to maybe at least mix up the team with the new players and the internationals so that whenever there are challenges, we are able to know where we’re going to find the replacement for certain players. So, I think it’s just a matter of us giving our best tomorrow.
“Playing against Jamaica I think it’s going to be a real, great test for us. I think we tried ourselves in the past two games that we had, but I think now we have learned and then also we have new faces in the team. So, I think coach wants to see how far we have grown.

“The way Coach [Desiree Ellis] approached the games [Denmark and England] it was two different line-ups. So, I also believe even in this match that we are going to face Jamaica, it’s going to be another different line-up.
“So, it’s just a matter of trying to see how far as players we have grown, or how far the new players have adjusted in the team.
“So, it’s good for us. I think the only thing we need to do as a team is just to be ourselves, play the normal football that we always play.”
