AmaZulu & Pirates Starting XIs Announced

AmaZulu FC and Orlando Pirates have announced their starting line-ups for this evening’s DStv Premiership clash at Moses Mabhida Stadium.

Following a late winner at FNB Stadium against Kaizer Chiefs in the Carling Knockout Cup Round of 16, Usuthu had only three days to shift their focus to another mouthwatering clash against Pirates.

The KwaZulu-Natal-based side last won a league match in their 3-2 home win over Cape Town City, but have since played a goalless draw with Polokwane City before losing to Moroka Swallows by 2-1.

Meanwhile, it’s been two weeks and two days since Pirates lifted MTN8 trophy. The Buccaneers, who have played three matches less than other clubs in the league, will have to work their way up the table, as they are sitting in unfamiliar position in 14th place.

Jose Riveiro’s became the only Soweto side to book a place into the Carling Knockout Cup quarter-finals after beating Cape Town Spurs 2-0.

That win and that in the MTN8 final ended a run of three defeats plus the knockout from the CAF Champions League, where Pirates had won the second leg 1-0 but lost on penalties to exit the competition on aggregate.

In the league, the Sea Robbers find themselves a massive 17 points behind table toppers Mamelodi Sundowns and they will have to win all their games in hand to at least close the gap.

The last time these two sides faced each other Pirates hammered Usuthu by 4-0 at the very same venue, Moses Mabhida Stadium in May.

Here is how they line up:

AmaZulu FC XI: Mothwa, Jooste, Hanamub, Fielies, Mphahlele, Gumede, Motshwari Brooks, Dion, Ekstein, Mbanjwa

Subs: Mzimela, Mabiliso, Sikhkhane, Zulu, Maluleka, Human, Ngema, Moremi, Kwem

Pirates XI: Buthelezi, Xoki, Ndah, Monyane, Hotto, Baloni, Monare, Maswanganyi, Lorch, Makgopa, Erasmus

Subs: Subs: Mpontshane, Sesame, Shandu, Timm, Ndlondlo, Saleng, Kimvuidi, Otladisa, Lepasa
