AmaZulu welcomed their latest signings this week for the start of the 2025/26 pre-season, and more business is expected in the coming days.
Usuthu have embarked on a squad refresh this season under head coach Arthur Zwane after finishing fifth in his debut season with the club, where he was appointed head coach after three league games and winless.
Tshepang Moremi was sold to Orlando Pirates, while 13 others were released upon the expiry of their contracts, including surprises with Ethan Brooks and Rowan Human, while Sifiso Ngobeni and Etiosa Ighodaro’s loan deals with Mamelodi Sundowns ended.
Ryan Moon (striker), Darren Johnson (goalkeeper), and Keegan Allan (defender) have all been secured as free agents, following their exits from Golden Arrows, Chippa United and Richards Bay respectively. Thapelo Matlhoko has also been lured from Kruger United, as reported previously by this website.
Liam Bern has also been spotted in Durban, despite reports that Cape Town Spurs will attempt to contest several players exits, despite their relegation to the ABC Motsepe League, with the players contracts now considered amateur status outside of the Premier Soccer League.
Former Vitesse striker Simon van Duivenboden, Sibusiso Shibane, a graduate of the KZN Academy and spent the last seven years in Europe, along with Liam de Kock, who recently left Stellenbosch are among the potential new arrivals – should they agree terms with the club.
Zimabwbe striker Thando Ngwenya from FC Platinum is also believed to closing in on a move to the club on a two-year deal, as they look to bolster their attacking force for the new season.
The 22-year-old netted two goals and impressed during the 2025 Cosafa Cup where Zimbabwe was in Group A alongside South Africa.
