Cardoso Makes Rallying Plea To Sundowns Supporters

Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Miguel Cardoso has urged the club’s supporters to start filling up the stadiums for the business end of the 2024/25 season.

Sundowns have moved 15 points clear of second placed Orlando Pirates and could go 18, albeit with five games more played – should they beat Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday.

Sections of the local football fraternity have suggest Masandawana are cruising to an eighth successive league crown but Cardoso took a different approach when asked whether it’s wrapped up after 19 games in the league.

“My word to our fans; please fill our stadium every match, if they want us to win, fill our stadium every match – because we need them, we need to fill the stadiums,” Cardoso said.

“The ones that are present have been fantastic, but we have many more at home that I would like to have at the stadiums every game, please – a word for our fans… help us to be stronger. Come to the matches, fill the stadiums, bring the joy, energy that’s how we’re going to win the next match and the next one, and the next one.

“Everyone is only thinking about the next match because that’s what football is; the next match.”

Sundowns host Amakhosi at the Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium tomorrow at 15h30.
