Mamelodi Sundowns forward Arthur Sales is a skilful finisher that can change the game whenever called upon, according to his head coach Miguel Cardoso.
Sales arrived at Sundowns under enormous expectation due to his reported €3.2-million price tag from Belgian club SK Lommel.
While he’s not established himself as an immediate starter, the 22-year-old Brazilian has made use of his chances afforded to him with with five goals and seven assists in 25 games, primarily coming from the bench.
“Artur has been quite positive and impactful over the game, it’s a player we know that when he enters, usually he changes the energy of the game, and we’re profiting from it as much as possible, we need to have players on the bench who enter and change something,” Cardoso said.
“We know that with Artur, we have that weapon, the capacity, that potential we can use in any moment – obviously I understand has an implicit objective. I can confess for the Nedbank Cup he was suppose to play from the starting XI.”

In the last nine games, he’s delivered eight goal contributions for Masandawana as they look to be romping to an eighth consecutive league title.
“We trust him, and we believe in the right moment he can play any position well, he’s a hybrid who can play more than one position, nine, in between the lines, left, right, and that versatility brings a lot of confusion for opponents and why he can impact the game so much,” Cardoso added.
“He’s player with big dynamics, he’s skilful on finishing and it’s a player we believe in so much.”
