Chiefs And AmaZulu Share Spoils In Four-Goal Thriller

Kaizer Chiefs and AmaZulu shared the spoils in an entertaining 2-2 draw in their Betway Premiership encounter at FNB Stadium on Tuesday evening.

In what was always bound to be an end-to-end fixture between two attack-minded sides, Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi sprung a tactical surprise.

Glody Lilepo, Tashreeq Morris and Thabo Cele, their three January signings were into the starting XI, with various degrees of success.

Morris, who didn’t receive the warmest of receptions upon joining the club, forced a won goal from former Chiefs defender Ramahle Mphahlele in the 18th minute, but they were pegged back five minutes later via Tshepang Moremi’s equaliser.

It proved to open up the game for chances at both ends, with Chiefs looking to dominate possession and the visitors keen on attempting to exploit their defence on the counter.

And it was in the second half, a transition resulted in Elmo Kambindu finding their second goal and like the opener, an equaliser came shortly after.

After a chaotic spell of play, it resulted in Lilepo heading the ball back into the area before it bundled beyond the line via Richard Ofori for another own goal.

The point moved Chiefs up to sixth place while Usuthu moved to seventh, with two points still separating the two sides.
