Kaizer Chiefs moved to the top of the Betway Premiership log after half-time substitute Wandile Duba scored a brace to beat Kurger United 3-1.
The match between newly-promoted Kruger United and Amakhosi was delayed by 15 minutes after large amounts of fans arrived too late at Mbombela Stadium.

Chiefs opened the scoring after six minutes, with Flavio Da Silva showing his finishing qualities after converting from inside the box following a super team move from their own half.
Amakhosi dominated possession after the goal without creating any other clearcut chances, with Kruger’s Khetukuthula Ndlovu sending a powerful shot from outside just over the bar after 30 minutes.
Five minutes later, Chiefs had a free-kick from a dangerous position just outside the box but Mfundo Vilakazi’s effort got stuck in traffic.
As the half progressed, Chiefs let Kruger more and more into the game and they were punished in injury-time when Ndlovu curled a shot against the inside of the post to equalise.
Chiefs coach Fernando Da Cruz reacted with two changes at the break, bringing on Sibongiseni Mthethwa and Wandile Duba for Siphesihle Ndlovu and Da Silva.
The subs paid dividend as Duba re-established Chiefs lead after Kruger keeper Marcel Dandjinou could only parry a shot by Reeve Frosler in front of the feet of the Amakhosi striker, who calmly converted.
Duba completed his brace 10 minutes landing, after his deflected shot bounced over Dandjinou to give Amakhosi a 3-1 lead.
The victory saw Da Cruz’s men climb to the top of the log, based on more goals scored than Soweto rivals Orlando Pirates who beat Milford FC 2-0 earlier.
