Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Wandile Duba has spoken about coach Nasreddine Nabi’s changes to the team while also acknowledging the influence former coach Arthur Zwane had on young players.
Nabi joined Amakhosi at the start of the season and has been tasked with reawakening a sleeping giant that has endured a trophy drought in nine campaigns.
Duba revealed that though he has yet to have one-on-one sessions with Nabi, the coach likes players with a strong mentality. Last season, the youngster scored one goal in eight league appearances and this time around he has one assist in three games.

The Chiefs DStv Diski Challenge product admits it has been good working with the Tunisian and believes most youngsters in the team have the mentality coach Nabi is looking for which was instilled under Zwane who’s a co-coach at AmaZulu with Vusumuzi Vilakazi.
“I think it’s good working with coach Nabi and I am always excited working with new people,” Duba told iDiski Times when asked about the changes.
“And he doesn’t like working with players who don’t have a strong mentality. I have never had a one-on-one session with him but we know what he wants and I give him exactly that every time.
“I think the gents must work hard, trust themselves and know that age is just a number, if you work hard, you will get your chance to play. Coach Arthur helped us a lot as the youngsters coming from the development.
“I don’t think we could have had this kind of mentality if it was not for him. He helped me a lot and I wish him all the best with his new job.”
The 20-year-old went to reveal his targets for the season boldly declaring his ambition for the Young Player of the Season award saying he has the qualities to make that happen.
“Scoring goals and fighting for the young player of the season accolade,” added Duba.
“Duba is a versatile player, a free player, hard-working and I can play anywhere.”
