Mamelodi Sundowns playmaker Matías Esquivel is set to return to the club from his loan at Argentine top-flight side Talleres de Córdoba.
Esquivel, 25, returned to his native country on loan for the season just seven months after his reported $2.5-million transfer from Club Atlético Lanús.
Having been one of the standout players in the league prior to his arrival at Sundowns, interest was natural from a club he previously had a loan spell at as they looked to bolster their squad for the Copa Libertadores.
But his loan spell has not quite gone to plan as he featured 12 times without scoring, and his return to Chloorkop is said to be imminent.

The move was agreed to initially as he looked to be back in his homeland with his family despite Sundowns viewing him as a key figure for their future plans.
His return will now cast doubt on the future of Erwin Saavedra, who was given another chance to prove himself at the club, but thus far only played 195 minutes of football this season, struggling to break into the starting line-up.
