Former Orlando Pirates head coach Roger De Sa has joined Cape Town City’s technical team after the dismissal of Muhsin Ertugral.
The club announced Ertugral’s departure on Monday “by mutual agreement” after failing to win any of their last 10 games.
Ertugral had started with back-to-back wins over Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates, and was named Coach of the Month for January after also beating Richards Bay while suffering just one defeat to Marumo Gallants.
However, things turned sour afterwards, as they they failed to win any of their last 10 games.
After confirming Ertugral’s departure, City also announced that former assistant Diogo Peral will take over until the end of the season, assisted by Manyama, while De Sa will also join the newly-shaped technical team.

“First team coach Diogo Peral will lead the team until the end of the season, assisted by Lebogang Manyama and Roger De Sa,” the club stated.
Earlier the Citizens had confirmed: “After technical discussions, the club and Muhsin Ertugral have agreed mutually to part ways. The decision comes as a collective in the best interest of the club as we look to end the 24/25 season as strong as possible.”
De Sa was working as assistant for Carlos Queiroz at Egypt, then Iran and most recently Qatar. The 60-year-old also previously led Platinum Stars, Maritzburg United, Ajax Cape Town, Pirates and Bidvest Wits, among others.
