Magesi FC head coach Allan Freese is hoping that home ground advantage plays pivotal in their quest to retain their Betway Premiership status when they take on Milford FC in today’s decider.

The fight to retain their Betway Premiership status continues for Magesi as it goes to the last day of the PSL promotion playoffs after Dikwena Tsa Meetse knocked City out of the promotion in the stalemate after an equalizer from Mncedi Vandala.

The Limpopo-based side managed to hold on but in referee’s additional time City came out guns blazing and hit the crossbar, but Magesi managed to hold on for a draw.

“Oh, I wanted to know where the eight minutes came from. Really, the eight minutes was too much,” he told the media after the match.

“They have that in the English football. We don’t have eight minutes here. We have five minutes. It’s nerve-wrecking but I am happy that we could defend properly, I am happy that we didn’t concede.”

The 2024 Carling Knockout Cup winners will play the last match of the playoffs at home against Milford, and they must win that match if they are to retain their top-flight status.

“Well, I couldn’t have asked for something better? Last game at home.” Freese continued.

“My contract ends in June. I got a contract until June. That’s what we have agreed on. There was nothing further than that,” he concluded.
