Kaizer Chiefs utility player Reeve Frosler is aiming to move quickly past their CAF Confederations Cup early exit, and switch focus to the Carling Knockout and Soweto Derby.
Chiefs will look to quickly forget about their continental showpiece exit as they will face TS Galaxy in the Carling Knockout round of 16 just days before facing Orlando Pirates in the Betway Premiership clash.
The pressure is mounting on everyone at Amakhosi following a disappointing start of the season. They might have not lost a league game this season but the early MTN8 exit to Lamontville Golden Arrows and second preliminary round CAFCC elimination has thrown their season into a tailspin.
Speaking with Chiefs media, Frosler was clear that they need to quickly forget the CAFCC early exit as they have a cup game against stubborn TS Galaxy.
“It’s disappointing falling out of the CAF competition. The guys did well to try and get back after the first leg in Zambia, but it just wasn’t meant to be, but now our full focus goes onto the Carling Cup,” Frosler said.
“TS Galaxy have been a tough opponent for us in the last few games, but it’s a cup competition and cup games are always different. We’ll look to put our best foot forward on Tuesday and try and go all the way in the Carling Cup.
“We have ambitions of wanting to win a trophy and this gives us an opportunity to try and do that.
“Obviously, we’ve got the [Soweto] Derby coming up on the weekend as well, but our attention is on TS Galaxy now and will use the game as preparation for Saturday.”
