SuperSport United head coach Gavin Hunt refused to be drawn into speculation surrounding his future at the club.
Hunt’s contract is set to expire in July 2024 after finishing in third place and seventh place in the last two campaigns.
He’s not hidden his displeasure of their transfer policy, selling some of their key talents to Mamelodi Sundowns in recent seasons and forced to dip into the DStv Diski Challenge squad for first-team reinforcements.

Hunt Responds To Johannes-Pirates Rumours
“Can I go to the office tomorrow or what?,” he said jokingly when asked by iDiski Times if he wants to remain at the club next season.
“Uhm, I don’t know, I don’t wanna go there [to your question], no let’s leave it I don’t wanna answer that question.”
Hunt did, however, state that things cannot continue like this next season if they were to seriously challenge for silverware of the league title and perhaps an advantage of no continental football, could help their cause.
“It’s a great club, listen. It’s one of the clubs that have good culture, good youth development, there’s always a plan but we need… if we wanna compete with people in this league, you’re going to need a little bit of help you know, it’s very, very difficult,” he added.
“But as I said, I think we’ve done very well, beating a lot of teams with bigger budgets than us this season, that’s the most important thing and if you can do that every year… but we can’t keep doing this, we need to level it out a bit. There’s a good crop of kids but we need help, we need help.”
After ending the 2023/24 campaign in seventh spot, Matsatsantsa will open the new season with an MTN8 quarterfinal clash against Orlando Pirates.
