“RANGERS can today confirm the signing of defender Olwethu Makhanya from Philadelphia Union on an initial four-year deal, with the option of an additional year, subject to international clearance, ” the club said.
It marks an incredible new chapter for Makhanya who joined Union 18 months ago from Stellenbosch and needed to bide his time in the MLS Next Pro side before making his breakthrough under then head coach Bradley Carnell.
Makhanya becomes the Scottish Premiership side’s eighth addition of the summer transfer window with European football also guaranteed after Rangers finished third last season.
