Sekhukhune United head coach Peter Hyballa says he wanted to work with South African coaches when probed about not bringing his own technical team.
The German-Dutch coach who arrives after a stint with NAC Breda in the Netherlands stated it was his choice to come into Babina Noko without the current staff.
Speculation has already been overdriving that the coach will be leaving before his first game in charge but on Tuesday morning during their MTN8 media, it appeared all systems go for Hyballa, his technical team and squad.

“We had discussions, we spoke about this and it wasn’t also… it was my choice to come alone, if you come alone [to a new country] it’s always the same, two cultures come together and I think it’s important as a head coach to take this culture,” Hyballa said.
“[If] I come direct with three assistant coaches, then it may have been a culture shock. And I want to learn the coaches, the assistant coaches, I want to have local coaches, because I know my style, I go my way – but I need local guys who help me in this environment.
“But it’s also something to discuss with the club if I need one coach from Europe or like that, we can discuss about it, that was the reason [for not coming with my own technical staff].”
Sekhukhune open up their campaign against Cape Town City in the MTN8 quarterfinal on Saturday afternoon at the Peter Mokaba Stadium (15h00).
