Khanye Responds To Pitso To Chiefs Rumours

Former Kaizer Chiefs winger Junior Khanye has responded to the latest rumours linking Pitso Mosimane with the head coach job at Amakhosi.

Mosimane, 59, is currently in charge of Al Wahda in the United Arab Emirates but has once again been linked with a move to Naturena.

He previously denied that there hasn’t been any official approach from the club, but has always expressed his interest in “the right project”.

‘Jingles’ as he is affectionally known has won 19 trophies throughout his illustrious career, while Chiefs have gone eight years without silverware and already exited the MTN8 and Carling Knockout Cups this season, leading to the departure of Molefi Ntseki.

While Cavin Johnson has been appointed as interim coach, Khanye believes the duo would work very well together after Johnson was a former assistant of Mosimane at Al Ahly.

“Pitso, I believe, was also the right person,” he told iDiski Times.

“Between Cavin and Pitso, I need to be honest, I love both of them. Pitso is one of the best in the country.

“Honestly, I would love to see Cavin working with Pitso as well [again]. Because the mess there, I know Pitso doesn’t take nonsense. The mess there, they need an arrogant person but who knows his story.

“So Cavin and Pitso, the knowledge and the arrogance was going to help the team.

“But they did a great thing in appointing Cavin, they must be patient. I don’t understand why they make him interim coach. They were supposed to give Cavin Johnson three years.

“I mean, they gave him Molefi Ntseki without any experience, without any knowledge of Kaizer Chiefs three years. Zwane, an inexperienced coach who didn’t coach anywhere near the professional set up, [they gave him] three years.

“And then why are they making this coach an interim? The one with experience, who’s been in the setup of development in South Africa and also at different PSL teams.”
