The South Africa juniors international coach couldn’t hide the feeling of seeing a lot of youngsters coming through Chiefs’ youth sides and into the senior squad.
Speaking iDiski Times, Khumalo counted close to 10 players who play topflight football week in and week out.
“It’s the proudest moment for me,” Khumalo told this publication when asked about the likes of Mduduzi Shabalala and Mfundo Vilakazi.
“You just mentioned two, but I’m saying to you there are eight players coming from the same team playing PSL week in and week out.
“We are talking here about Samkelo [Zwane], Omega [Mdaka], Puso [Dithejane], Donay [Jansen], Wandile Duba, Mduduzi [Shabalala], Obie [Mfundo Vilakazi] so, all in all, there are nine and that makes me more proud to see them graduate because I think ultimately that’s what they wanted.”
After producing so much talent, a question of who is next in line to graduate from the DDC team, Khumalo predicted Bohloko as he believes he has the striker instincts.
“Look, not at the moment, we have a young team,” he added.
“The team that we had before most of them graduated, and now we are starting a new team.

“But what is going to happen, I think maybe in the future, the chances of Neo Bohloko showing some good glimpses of becoming a good player but without necessarily to single out other players but those are the few players that will make it in the near future, in the next three years,” he further said.
Khumalo and his side are back in action on Sunday, when they will face the club’s bitter rivals Orlando Pirates in the DDC derby.
