The Rwanda international forms part of their goalkeeping department alongside Brandon Petersen, Bruce Bvuma and Bontle Molefe.
“No I wasn’t [upset], I knew the club told me the direction they were taking, I need to buy into that, I needed to support the idea the club was moving in that direction,” he said about his eventual exit.
“Nothing personal but I’m part and parcel, I’m still family to Kaizer Chiefs.”
Khune was confirmed to have been in discussion for a non-playing role at the club when his final contract was announced before the 2023/24 season.

“But for now, I haven’t cut ties with them, they haven’t cut ties with me, we are still in talks, that’s where we are sitting right now.

“We’re trying to find a good working relationship in a different position, going forward.”
Khune’s recent decision to become a shareholder of Top Bet is, however, unlikely to be able to see him continue in the professional ranks of South African football.
