Itumeleng Khune has defended Yusuf Maart after his penalty miss against Golden Arrows, saying he is a strong penalty and his technique makes it difficult for any keeper.
Maart missed an early spot-kick which would have given his team the lead in Chiefs’ 2-1 defeat to Abafana Bes’thende.

Despite Maart later equalising Arrows’ opener, Amakhosi suffered their 10th defeat of the season after Knox Mutizwa scored the winner late in the second half.
With Maart being booed by sections of the Chiefs’ after his penalty miss, Khune insisted the player showed responsibility and has a good penalty record.
“He’s a responsible captain, despite the criticism he’s been going through, he’s taken the responsibility to raise his hand and be counted. He’s a a senior player, he’s the captain,” the former Chiefs captain-turned analyst said on SABC.
