Latest Jali Update

Veteran midfield maestro Andile Jali is set to leave Chippa United at the end of June with retirement talk on the cards.

Jali joined Chippa United at the beginning of the season on a one-year contract with an option to extend for a further with his deal coming to an end in June.

The 35-year-old played just over 700 minutes this season for the Chili Boys and has been troubled by injuries, which played a huge part in his lack of game-time.

This publication has learnt, Jali won’t be returning to Chippa for the 2025/26 season after his contract expired, with the former Mamelodi Sundowns set to retire to fully focus on his family and various business ventures.

‘AJ15’ won seven league titles, five with Sundowns and two with Orlando Pirates and the Matatiele-born hard-tackler represented Bafana Bafana on 45 occasions and scored five goals.

His retirement won’t come as a shock as he has lived up to the expectations for most of his career, having also plied his trade abroad for Belgian outfit for KV Oostende.
