Kaizer Chiefs attacker Glody Lilepo has admitted that their goal was to win a trophy to bring back joy to the fans this term and insists they must finish strong in order to compete for the MTN8 competition next season.
The 27-year-old DRC international has started his Amakhosi career like a house on fire netting six goals and an assist in 14 appearances since joining the club during the January transfer window.
Lilepo also made mention of how crucial the clash against Polokwane City is as they look to sneak into the MTN8 competition for next season.
“We are all very happy because we know how important it is for the Club. Our goal was to end this long period without trophies and bring back some joy to the fans,” he told the club’s official website.
“Personally, I am training well, as is the rest of the squad. We understand how important this game is for our chances of finishing in the top eight and give us a more positive outlook to prepare for next season.”
The club’s top scorer this season also pleaded with the fans to come out in full support.
“Khosi Nation, once again we need you on Saturday for the last game of the season. Please bring your fantastic energy to help us finish the season strongly. Thank you in advance. Love & Peace.”
