Pyramids head coach Krunoslav Jurčić says the CAF Champions League final against Mamelodi Sundowns is the biggest match of his career.
The Croatian has been in charge of Dinamo Zagreb, the Saudi Arabia national team, Al Nassr and several other clubs in Europe and the Gulf but says this doesn’t compete with what’s up ahead of the next week in Africa’s elite club competition.
Pyramids come into the final that is set to be sandwiched by a potential league decider against Ceramica Cleopatra in mid-week and Jurčić says preparing for the first leg tomorrow has been excellent thus far.
“We have excellent feeling, only we don’t have water in the hotel, that’s the only problem, other than that, excellent,” he said.
“We’re very happy to be playing in the final of the Champions League, I will repeat what I said before, this can be one big reward for us, we played one excellent season that we need to finish in the best way we can.
“We have a very good team, very good atmosphere – we’re playing a good team with bigger experience than us, especially in the Champions League but we’ve been good this season and the players are ready — supporters who will watch this match will enjoy this.”
When pressed about coaching some of the biggest clubs in the Middle East and with Zagreb, the giants of his home nation, he was blunt about his current challenge.
“Tomorrow is the biggest match of my career, and this is enough motivation that I will do everything I can do that we win in these two matches,” he concluded.
