Manqoba Teases Chiefs Fans After Win At FNB

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Manqoba Mngqithi couldn’t resist to tease Kaizer Chiefs a little after his side’s 2-1 win at a sold-out FNB Stadium.

Mngqithi continued his perfect start to the 2024/25 league campaign, beating Amakhosi 2-1 at a packed Calabash to move back to the top of the log.

Ranga Chivaviro scored the opener before Lucas Ribeiro and Iqraam Rayners turned the game before the half-time break.

Amakhosi thought they have scored the 2-2 equaliser in the fourth minute of injury-time but the referee ruled it out, with Mngqithi being in a cheeky mood at the post-match comments.

“Thanks to our supporters who came in numbers to support us,” he said on SuperSport TV.

“Unfortunate for the Chiefs fans, but they came in numbers, we appreciate that.

“Even if they didn’t get the result, but at least they had the crowd and they’re also going home with some nice flags, I like those flags. Thank you.”

Sundowns are back in league action on 27 October when they will face Polokwane City away from home.
