Sekhukhune United captain Linda Mntambo says Sipho Mbule has amazed him since he arrived from Mamelodi Sundowns.
Mbule, 26, joined Sekhukhune on a season-long loan from Sundowns after falling down the pecking order at the club.
And the technically gifted midfielder has already shown signs of why he’s been dubbed the ‘Master Chef’ with an impressive debut for an hour during their 2-0 win over Golden Arrows.
Playing in the 10 role, Mbule completed 32 of his 33 attempted passes, six out of six long passes, and won three out of four duels, providing a creative spark for Babina Noko.
“He just amazes me every time, even in training, the way he controls the ball, his vision, just how he plays, somehow I just think he’s unfortunate, but you can see with game time under his belt, he’ll show people why he’s called the Masterchef,” Mntambo said.
“I don’t think he signed for Sundowns if he wasn’t good enough and now that he’s come to us he also understands that he’s coming to a new team, it’s not about him. But the club, so he needs to put the club first before himself, and I think it would bode well for us.
“As a club we’re excited, not only about him, having an experienced South African international in Thabang Monare also joining us, now we have Lesedi Kapinga and a couple of young players who want to prove a point, we have a solid team and we just need the cohesion to move into the right direction.”
Sekhukhune returns to action in the Carling Knockout Cup this weekend against Richards Bay at the King Zwelithini Stadium.
