Miguel Makes Bold Statement Ahead Of FNB Stadium Debut

Kaizer Chiefs defender Inacio Miguel says every game is a home game as the biggest club in South Africa.

Miguel, 28, joined the club from Petro de Luanda in the off-season and has enjoyed an impressive start to life at Chiefs.

He won the Man of the Match award on Wednesday evening after scoring in their 3-1 win over AmaZulu ahead of facing the league champions, Mamelodi Sundowns this weekend.

Amakhosi played in a sold out Toyota Stadium and Moses Mabhida in their opening two league outings and it appears it’s heading for another for their first home game of the 2024/25 season at the Calabash this weekend against Masandawana.

“Listen, until this moment I didn’t feel that I played away, the first game at Marumo Gallants, I feel like I played home [against AmaZulu] I feel like I played home, Kaizer Chiefs is the biggest club of South Africa,” he said.

“Everywhere we go we play home, so there’s no… of course there’s a little but of difference because we playing in our city, with our local supporters, but everywhere we go we play home – so I always feel home.”

The two sides meet at FNB Stadium on Satutrday afternoon at 15h00.
