Msendami And Co – Gallants Address Transfer Talks…

Marumo Gallants head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has admitted they have some interesting talent that will undoubtedly be in demand in the upcoming off-season transfer window.

Zimbabwe international winger Daniel Msendami has long been linked with a move to South Africa and Gallants were the first to take the chance to lure him across the border, where he was starring in Botswana with Jwaneng Galaxy.

He was lauded as ‘the next Khama Billiat’ by former coach Morena Ramoreboli as he led them to league titles and the group stages of the CAF Champions League.

Now, the 24-year-old is starting to excel in the Premier Soccer League and won Man of the Match, with an inspiring performance to beat Kaizer Chiefs 2-1 at FNB Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

“Not only him [Msendami], I think we have some interesting players in our team, in that part unfortunately yeah [we will lose talent]. We will sit with the Chairman to speak about that, maybe the future, how we can build a strong team,” Ouaddou said.

“As I said, Bloemfontein deserves to have a strong team – about the team? Of course we discuss things with the Chairman, he always gives his talks, how he feels about the team and it’s important to listen as coaches.

“Some coaches would say no you have nothing to tell me coz they say you know nothing about football, but no, we have to humble and listen to everyone and take what you need.

“The Chairman has a good vision, since the beginning he told me I want you to play like Golden Arrows – very high up the pitch, go and press teams, and I said it’s what I want to do, so he was happy, and I think he will be happy [about the win over Chiefs].”

Ouaddou has managed to secure 14 points out of a possible 24 in the league since succeeding Dan Malesela at Gallants who were among the favourites for relegation.

They are now level on 30 points with Chiefs, with two matches remaining, Chippa United and Magesi – with a chance of securing a top eight finish still alive.
