Nabi And Chiefs Set For Crunch Meeting

Kaizer Chiefs are set for a decisive meeting with head coach Nasreddine Nabi to discuss his future at the club.

Despite the triumph of winning the Nedbank Cup and ending a decade-long trophy drought, rumours quickly emerged suggesting Nabi’s departure from Chiefs at the season’s end, fuelled by reports of unhappiness within the club’s management.

Amakhosi are currently fighting for a top eight finish, sitting in ninth place with two games remaining against Sekhukhune United and Polokwane City.

According to information gathered by iDiski Times, Nabi was informed before the Nedbank Cup final that he will leave at the end of the season. The Tunisian mentor pleaded with the Chiefs management to give him another season as he wants to continue with the project.

In his pleading, he emphasised on getting quality players and he has been crying about that throughout the season.

After the latest meeting between him and the Chiefs management, another meeting is expected to take place after the last two league matches. The two league matches might determine the decision, as Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr insisted the club “must finish in the top eight”.

Qualifying for the MTN8 is something the Amakhosi management are aiming for after failing to do so last season.
