Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi has hailed former defender Thatayaone Ditlhokwe for his professionalism following his transfer to Libyan giants Al-Ittihad on Friday.
The 26-year-old joined Amakhosi at the start of the 2023/24 season from SuperSport United, making 32 appearances across all competitions in his 18-month tenure. He played his last match for Chiefs in the 1-0 win over Stellenbosch in Cape Town a fortnight ago.
The Tunisian mentor was full of praise for the Botswana international, adding that this was also a great opportunity for the player and his family despite the Zebras captain always making his starting 11 list.
“First, I want to wish for TT all the best in new adventure,” he stated.
“He’s a lovely guy. Very professional and in my first, first 11 honestly.
“And for that from the management and myself I don’t protect him because he gives his all in Kaizer Chiefs.

“And this is a good opportunity for him, for his life, for the family and like that Kaizer Chiefs.
“Kaizer Chiefs is not only… there’s respect for everyone that gives to Kaizer Chiefs, Kaizer Chiefs give to return for him.
“This is a high-level club [Al-Ittihad] in the world like Kaizer Chiefs.”
Nabi also expressed delight at the return of Edmilson Dove who will offer more options for the central and left back positions.
“For myself, I’m happy for return for Dove,” Nabi added.
“We have Dove, we have Mashiane. Happy Mashiane today have too much time don’t play. Maybe it’s the tempo of the time but he’s not bad.
“For me, offensively he’s very good. Maybe small things defensively in the cross today after bad moment.
“And I have more Dove. Dove had the fight for TT. He’s a central left-back and has sacrificed sometimes to play back left.
“I think the solution exists.”
