Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi has come out in defence of new defender Inacio Miguel.
Miguel, 28, joined Amakhosi from Petro de Luanda ahead of the current season but has already picked up four yellow cards and one red card in only six games so far.
As a consequence, he has come under scrutiny over his perceived lack of discipline, but Nabi insisted that he is a perfect leader and just needs to adapt to the South Africa game, while also promising to be more careful.
“Miguel is not problem a for discipline. He’s good guy, he’s a really [good] captain,” Nabi told reporters.
“But you know, he’s a new in South African football. He’s need small time for adaptation, not only for the football, but for all the atmosphere.
“If he’s received more [cards], I agree with you, he’s received more, but I think he wants to give a maximum for Kaizer Chiefs. Some time he’s too much. But honestly, he’s very good guy, his personality, I love this guy.
“But he’s promised me more… I don’t want more discipline, because he is an example in discipline, inside and outside, but to be more careful, yes.”
Chiefs return to action on Wednesday, when they will host Richards Bay in Polokwane, but Miguel will miss the tie as part of his red-card suspension.
