Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi admits he tried to sign Glody Lillepo at two of his previous clubs before finally landing him now at Amakhosi.
The DR Congo international winger comes highly rated despite his recent blip in his career where he suffered relegation from Ligue 2 with Valenciennes in France.

He asked to leave the club, in what was a mutual agreement due to his high wages in the third tier of French football and Chiefs won the race for his services in a reported R9.7-million transfer.
“Everyone… is ready to be part of the game, but we’re still waiting on the administrative paperwork to be sure they can be part of the game,” he said.
“It’s true we have been following Glody Lillepo since he was at AS Vita Club, even before going to Al Hilal, at that time at Young Africans, we tried to bring him in, it didn’t work out.

“Last season, tried to being him to ASFAR Rabat, it didn’t work out, but this time it’s worked out. We faced tough competition from him with Tunisian clubs but we’re happy he joined us.
“We believe that with his experience, his skills, he is someone that can help us a lot who can help us in the attacking third, but we might as well give him time to adapt himself to South African football, his teammates and I think he will be a good signing for us.”
Chiefs take on Orlando Pirates this weekend in the Soweto Derby at FNB Stadium (15h30).
