Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi has insisted his side needs to learn to focus on the next game and not let big matches like the upcoming Soweto Derbies distract their focus.
Chiefs defeated Sundowns 2-1 in the semi-final of the Nedbank Cup two weeks ago but then looked a completely different team in their goalless draw with Chippa United in the league in Gqeberha.

The coach believes mentally Chiefs weren’t sharp enough after the high of beating Sundowns in the Ke Yona Cup and insisted they now need to focus on their next game against Marumo Gallants, before their minds switch on the upcoming back-to-back Soweto Derbies.
“We took lessons from this game [against Chippa],” said Nabi.
“We even discussed all week about this game that we must be ready and focus on Chippa because it will be difficult.
“We tried to prepare our players mentally. The smart players if they make one mistake they can’t repeat the same mistake.
“Now we understand that if we don’t prepare 100% mentally we cant’ win any game.”
