Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi has explained why midfielder Gaston Sirino did not feature in their 2-1 win over Richards Bay in Polokwane on Wednesday, despite being in the match day squad.
Sirino has been one of the most influential players for Amakhosi since joining them at the start of the current season.

The 33-year-old has played seven matches for Chiefs in all competitions this season and has two goals and an assist, however did not feature when his side returned to winning ways for the first time since September, having been named on the bench.
Nabi explained that he planned to play the South American, but he couldn’t take risks after Chiefs were left with 10 men following Reeve Frosler’s red card early in the second half of the match.

“He’s coming from an injury,” Nabi told iDiski Times when asked about the midfielder.
“Even the tournament that we played in PE [Home of legends Cup] he was injured.
“We were planning to give him some minutes during the game but given the circumstances with the red card we couldn’t risk it but we’ll probably see him in the next games.”
Chiefs return to Polokwane on Saturday when they will host Royal AM. A win could see them climb into third place on the log.
