Cape Town City head coach Eric Tinkler has discussed Emile Witbooi’s assessment at Premier League giants Chelsea FC.
Witbooi left South Africa at the beginning of November for a four-week assessment at the London-based club, as first reported by this publication.
The 16-year-old has been tipped to be one of the best talents of the country by the lots of coaches and legends, including Benni McCarthy.
Tinkler gave his view on Witbooi going to Chelsea, saying they always knew he was a special talent but club chairman John Comitis can probably give full report about his time with the Premier League side.
“I think we’ve all identified that Emile is an extremely talented young player, technically, very, very, very gifted,” Tinkler told iDiski Times after his side’s 1-0 win over Polokwane City.

“I think the chairman can respond more in terms of what report we’ve received from Chelsea regarding him, but I think a lot of it is down to what we already knew, in my view.
“So their expectation for me, it’s no surprise, but you know, he’s still potentially as a massive future ahead of him if he grows both [mind and physically] I think that becomes important.”
