Orlando Pirates interim coach Mandla Ncikazi says contrary to what most people think, four of his players could be in the PSL Awards conversation in the remaining matches.
Pirates look certain to finish the season in second position for a third time in three seasons. They solidified the spot with the 1-0 win over SuperSport United in Polokwane on Tuesday, a result that saw them record a 19th victory in a season and saw them amass 59 points with two matches left to go.

Ncikazi believes that his players still have a shot at the end of season awards and the games can help them get closer to those targets.
“I think there’s so much to play for, for our team,” said Ncikazi.
“One like you said, the records are important in the club. These players must be part of the history of having done what has happened like you are counting game number 19. Secondly, there’s still individual awards for all these players.
“A Goalkeeper of the Season might come out of our club. A Defender of the Season might come out. [Nkosinathi] Sibisi has a big opportunity, [Deon] Hotto has a big opportunity. Tshego [Tshegofatso Mabasa] is chasing the leading goal scorer. There’s still a possibility. Nothing is confirmed until the end.
“So, for me, there’s so much to play for, the history. But on top of everything these are professionals. They are paid to play and train.
“There’s no game that has got no impact especially if you play for a team like Orlando Pirates.”
