Orlando Pirates have invited highly-rated Zambia international striker Andrew Phiri for a two-week assessment.
The 23-year-old striker, currently on the books of Maestro United, has been one of the most prolific talents in the league, which earned him national team recognition to be called up to their Cosafa Cup squad after previously starring in the U17, U20 and U23 national team.

He’s netted 33 league goals in the last two and half seasons, which has attracted the interest of Pirates according to reports in his homeland.
Bola News reported that he had travelled to South Africa under the club’s permission to attend an assessment, for the next 10-14 days.

iDiski Times can confirm Phiri started training with the Buccaneers this week, during the FIFA International break and he’s impressed so far, but no decision has been made on the player as of yet.
Sources have confirmed he has a release clause which was agreed with FC MUZA of around R1.25-million, which could be activated should the Soweto giants been keen on pursuing his services.
