Kaizer Chiefs head coach Molefi Ntseki was again targeted by angry Amakhosi fans as he walked down the tunnel following his side’s 1-0 defeat to SuperSport United.
The Glamour Boys had 13 shots but it was SuperSport who took home the three points after an early goal by Terrence Dzvukamanja.
After the match, Chiefs fans once again expressed their frustrations with the technical team and leadership, with Football Manager Bobby Motaung trying to calm matters.
Sections of the club’s supporters also chanted ‘Ntseki must go’ and the Amakhosi head coach addressed the reaction of the fans after the game.
“I think they are disappointed because they are looking at the performance of the team and the expectation is for us to win games,” he said, when asked by iDiski Times.
“And when you don’t win games like this, like the one last week, obviously the supporters are disappointed.
“As much as they are disappointed I think we are having a good team, we were having a good game and the players are performing to the best of their abilities, and I think the plan worked out today, it’s just that we conceded very early.”
Chiefs have a chance at redemption when they travel to Mamelodi Sundowns in the second leg of their MTN8 semi-final on Saturday. They will need overturn a 1-1 from the first leg in order to book their spot in the final.
