Parker Questions Chiefs Transfer Policy

Kaizer Chiefs legend Bernard Parker has questioned the side’s transfer policy saying it has not worked over the last decade.

Amakhosi have endured a close to ten-year trophy drought that also seen them chopping and changing the technical team and players with Nasreddine Nabi brought in to awake the sleeping giant.

Amakhosi are still inconsistent in the league sitting in fifth place on the Betway Premiership log with 21 points in 14 matches and the only real hope of silverware this term is the Nedbank Cup.

‘Die Hond’ says Chiefs need to relook the way they are doing things with regards to recruiting players and stop bringing in one hit wonders or nothing will really change.

“I think what has been happening in the last 10 years just what Chiefs is doing, we just keep signing and keep signing and then the next thing we offload, offload then sign again then offload and sign again,” Parker told reporters.

“But do we thoroughly profile the player? Do we thoroughly profile him? And did we bring in a player that has shown consistency over the three years, not only over six months or a year. That’s very, very important because any player that needs to don a Kaizer Chiefs jersey needs to be a season campaigner not just a six months form that he hit or one year form that he hit.

“When we have also signed players can we identify where we can strengthen the team and what we have inside. If we just want to add on and hoping that the player will hit the ground running, I think it will be a continuous thing where the club will fall short every year.”
