Orlando Pirates have completed the signing of highly-rated midfielder Masindi Nemtajela from Marumo Gallants ahead of the 2025/26 season.
Nemtajela, 23, has been one of the standout performers for Gallants this season who could still secure a top eight spot in the league with their final league clash against Magesi on Saturday.
Capable of playing as six or an eight, the diminutive talent has eased into the top-flight surroundings after initially breaking into the professional ranks in the second tier with Gallants last season, having previously spent time with Senaoane Gunners.
Having attracted the interest of Kaizer Chiefs and Sekhukhune United, Pirates have moved swiftly to land his services after reaching a club-to-club agreement with Gallants and the player completing his medicals after signing a three-year deal with an option to extend.
He’s likely to arrive with a new-look Pirates midfield next season with Sihle Nduli set to arrive from Stellenbosch, while Miguel Timm is set to leave upon the expiry of his contract in June.
Pirates currently have Thalente Mbatha, Mkhehleni Makhaula, Goodman Mosele, Selaelo Rasebotja in midfield while Camren Dansin and Simphiwe Selepe recently earned promotions to the first team.
Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo is another central midfielder on their books but is coming to the end of his three-year contract at the end of next month.
