Pirates Give Injury Update Ahead Of Stellies Clash

Orlando Pirates have confirmed that key players Nkosinathi Sibisi and Makhehleni Makhaula will remain sidelined for their Betway Premiership clash with Stellenbosch FC on Wednesday.

The Buccaneers are yet to collect any point in the league after suffering back-to-back losses to Sekhukhune United and Marumo Gallants.

But after a 1-1 draw against Mamelodi Sundowns in the MTN8 semi-final first leg, there is new hope that the team will click more and hand new coach Abdeslam Ouaddou their first league win of the season.

However, Pirates will remain without several players, especially at the back, with Sibisi and Makhaula sidelined alongside long-term absentees Thabiso Sesane and Selaelo Rasebotja.

“The Soweto Giants have the personnel capable enough to do so, as demonstrated by the likes of Sihle Nduli and Lebone Seema, who have stepped up amid injuries to cult heroes such as Nkosinathi Sibisi and Makhehleni Makhaula,” the club stated on Tuesday.

“Players such as Thabiso Sesane and Selaelo Rasebotja also continue to recover after suffering knocks during the latter half of the previous campaign.”

Meanwhile, there was no update on Olisa Ndah who has also not featured for the Sea Robbers this campaign despite being spotted back in training.

Pirates host Stellenbosch at Orlando Stadium at 19:30 on Wednesday, with the visitors also still searching for their first league win of the new campaign.
