Former TS Galaxy head coach Owen da Gama has brushed off suggestions that it’s time for redemption at Magesi and detailed how the arrival of Sead Ramovic ended his time at the club.
Da Gama has returned to the topflight after a three-year absence, as he’s tasked to retain the top-flight status of 16th-placed Magesi.

Having won the Carling Knockout Cup with Clinton Larsen last month, the fairytale story is being quickly forgotten as he resigned, citing the club needing fresh ideas to provide a chance of survival in their debut Betway Premiership campaign.
Da Gama steps in with a slightly tainted reputation due to his previous stints with Galaxy and Black Leopards, which he felt is not the best to judge his capabilities.
“With TS Galaxy, when I got there, they were bottom of the log and I took them to number eight and the next season was a few problems in the team, there were disagreements, nothing to do with football,” the former Sliver Stars and Bafana Bafana coach said.

“It was disagreements in other aspects of the game, including the appointment of Ramovic, he was supposed to come in as my assistant coach, but I had Shaun Bartlett there, and I had other people there, I just wanted that to wait a little bit.
“But at TS Galaxy, I think I did well apart from the second season when there were some things, but I must say Tim Sukazi treated me with the greatest respect and Leopards? I found them bottom with 11 games go.
“I couldn’t sign players, I couldn’t do anything. I gave it my best and I think in those six or seven games, we had won more games than they had won the entire season – so it was very tough – it was a little bit too late at the time.”
His first match in charge they travel to Mbombela to face his former club, The Rockets, who are on a six-match unbeaten run since the resignation of Ramovic.
