Orlando Pirates head coach Jose Riveiro has said their current point tally in the DStv Premiership doesn’t concern him, not scoring as frequently as they should does.
Riveiro was speaking after Pirates and Polokwane City played to a 1-1 draw on Friday evening.
The result leaves Pirates with just nine points after seven games, and they’re currently 12th on the table.
But Riveiro says points and position is something that doesn’t concern him, but rather their current league form and inability to take their chances.
“Concerned with the points?” Riveiro said at the post-match press conference.
“I cannot be concerned with the points. Points is something abstract, it’s a point, it’s a figure, I cannot be concerned with points.
“I can be concerned with some things that we are not doing well and we need to correct within the week. We are not finding the goal as easy or as frequent as we would like and that’s a handicap, obviously, usually in a game like football.
“But I’m busy with, not concerned, I’m busy with the problems that we have to make sure that game after game we get new problems but not old problems.
“[When] we continue having old problems then you’re doing something wrong so that’s the thing, I’m busy trying to help my players to win games and to score more goals. But no, not concerned.”
Pirates return to action on Wednesday when they face bottom-placed Cape Town Spurs in the DStv Premiership in Cape Town.
