Orlando Pirates head coach Jose Riveiro has paid tribute to Polokwane City head coach Phuti Mohafe after his praises for the Spaniard.
Pirates announced that Riveiro will leave the club at the end of the season, since then, the Spaniard mentor has received well wishes from all fronts including the football club supporters on social media platforms.
Mohafe joined the supporters in praising Riveiro on the role he has played in South Africa football. The Buccaneers mentor gave youngsters like Relebohile Mofokeng, Mohau Nkota and most recently Mbekezeli Mbokazi their first team debuts and the trio have not looked back since as Pirates chase a quadruple.
Riveiro explained that it was his job to help the club and help the players improve. He was humbled by Mohafe’s message after their 1-0 win on Saturday at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium.
“Thank you to Phuti, thank you to the coach, I didn’t hear him, I trust you on this one,” Riveiro told the media.
“Obviously for us coaches if you get the recognition of your work from colleagues, I think it’s the best one that you can get from your own players and from your colleagues it’s something to appreciate.

Like I said, I’m just trying to do my job as good as I can with professionally, with dedication, with passion and if the consequences of that is getting results.
