Sekhukhune Set Sights On Ex-Bafana Captain

Sekhukhune United are aiming to sign Cape Town City goalkeeper Darren Keet as he will be a free agent from 1st July.

iDiski Times reported in the latest edition (210) of the newspaper on the exit of Keet at the end of June when his contract expires and this publication now understands that Babina Noko have firmly set their sights on Keet’s situation once he exits the Citizens at the end of this month.

The 35-year-old fought tooth and nail this past season trying to help City to avoid relegation to the Motsepe Foundation Championship, keeping 10 clean sheets the entire season but City’s lack of goals saw them suffering a major blow since their establishment in 2016.

The former Bafana Bafana goalkeeper made 104 appearances in City colours throughout the four seasons he spent at the club, keeping 40 clean sheets and conceding 96 goals.

Babina Noko are starving in the goalkeeping department after Ali Badre Sangare and Lloyd Kazapua left the club that left them with Renaldo Leaner who also has been linked with Kaizer Chiefs.

Having previously worked with Keet for a very long time; Eric Tinkler has identified him as the perfect missing piece in his puzzle expected to deliver some good results and even better than last season.
