Orlando Pirates starlet Simphiwe Selepe admits that they were let down by finishing after they created countless chances in their disappointing stalemate against TS Galaxy.
Selepe made his second Betway Premiership start since gaining promotion to the Pirates senior team this season and was named Man of the Match as they played to a 1-1 draw at Orlando Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Even though he was first spotted in the Soweto Derby league win over Kaizer Chiefs, Selepe’s first taste of first-team football actually came in December 2024 under Jose Riveiro when he featured in the Carling All Stars team.
The Bucs youngster believes that missed chances robbed them of a win.
“Coming to promotion, I was working from DDC to get here,” he told OP TV.
“I told myself when I get this opportunity, I will grab it and give it with everything I have.
“Especially now that we have injuries, when I got the chance, I wanted to grab it with both hands.
“I think the game, first half we managed to control it and create chances even though we didn’t put away most them.
“But second half was a bit scrappy. We were countering and they [Galaxy] countered as well, so we couldn’t control and lost a bit of momentum.
