Sirino Breaks Silence After Downs Exit

Former Mamelodi Sundowns winger Gaston Sirino has shared a farewell message to Masandawana’s fans and the Motsepe family in his first words after his exit was announced.

Sirino, 33, was one four players who were released by the club upon the expiry of their contracts on 30 June.

The Uruguay winger joined Sundowns in January 2018, scoring 41 goals and setting up 44 more in 202 appearances for the club. Overall, he’s lifted 12 trophies at Chloorkop, including seven DStv Premiership titles.

But the club opted to part ways, with Sirino still having one year left on his previous deal. The player himself took to social media to share a farewell message with the club’s fans.

“Yellow Nation, thank you for all these years that we were together, for the love you gave me from the first day I arrived. Not only to me but to my family as well and that will always remain in my heart,” he wrote.

“THANK YOU to the Motsepe family for making me stay in the history of this beautiful club.

“THANK YOU, SIRINO”

Sirino was one of four players who were released, alongside Bongani Zungu, Brian Onyango and Thabiso Kutumela.
