Mendieta Set For Swift Sundowns Exit?

Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Junior Mendieta is reportedly leaving the club after just one season.

Mendieta, 31, joined Sundowns as one of the most exciting players in the DStv Premiership due to his exploits at Stellenbosch.

The club forked out around R10-million to secure his services and despite not being a regular, his first season could be considered a success with the African Football League and league title to his name, the first silverware of his career.

However, reports emanating in his homeland via Chajarialdia, Argentina, state he’s set for a move to Greek Super League side Volos NFC.

Mendieta is expected to travel to Greece on Tuesday where he will pen a contract with the ambitious outfit only founded in 2017.

Mendieta scored two goals with three assists in 29 games for Sundowns during the 2023/24 season.
