Orlando Pirates legend Jomo Sono says head coach Jose Riveiro must protect Relebohile Mofokeng, who has a bright future ahead of him.
Sono highly praised Mofokeng, who has become a key player at Pirates last season and his fine performances have seen him being called up to the Bafana Bafana squad by Hugo Broos.

The 19-year-old got his first Bafana cap in Bloemfontein when South Africa defeated Zimbabwe 3-1 in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers, but also featured in both AFCON qualifiers against Uganda and South Sudan.
Sono says Mofokeng needs to be protected, as he is one of the best young talents coming through, and he also applauded Pirates coach Jose Riveiro for how he’s handled the 19-year-old this season so far.
“To be honest highly talented kid, he needs to be protected,” Sono told the media.
“I think the coach at Pirates is doing a good job because twice I saw him pulling him off because the kid was starting to struggle, and a kid like that, the moment he starts to struggle take him out, you’re protecting him, you’re building him.
“[Thami] Mkhize was a bit stronger, physically he was a bit strong for him, even though he scored with the ball that was played over him but after that, he couldn’t go past him, he was shoving him all over the place, he was tackling him.
“But he has a bright future and he needs to be protected properly.”
